Was it really Italian?
When Alonso and Massa were having a rant at each other after the European GP, James Allen calmly told us they were speaking in Italian (i think i recall), now my Italian is pretty non existant so i wouldn't really know but wouldn't it make more sense to assume they were speaking in Spanish?
Maybe someone who has a better grip of Spanish or Italian could let me know.

Possibly.
All I thought was - Alonso drove in Italy for a long time as a kid and must speak it like a second language, and Massa drives for an Italian team. Or possibly they knew each other from karting in Italy?

It was definately Italian I'm affraid Stew (although there were a few choice swear words in there too in Spanish and Portuguese). I'm not sure Massa can speak Spanish to be honest although I wouldn't put it past him (remember Brazil speak Portuguese rather than Spanish).
Alonso as well as driving in Italy for a long time drove for Minardi remember. I remember an interview with him around then when he said he was embarressed by his English because it was his third language.
When in Italy last year I saw Massa, Barrichello and Michael speaking fluently with the Italian press. Barrichello even made a joke. So he can definately speak Italian.
Anyway all of this is background for the transcript of what was said:
Alonso: You did it intentionally, as in Barcelona.
Massa: No, I did not.
Alonso: You broke my sidepod there - go and have a look at it!
Massa: Go f**k yourself!. You won and you say something like this.
Alonso: Mate, it can’t break itself.
Alonso: I have fought with Heidfeld, with everybody, what you did with three laps to go can’t be done.
Massa: He wins and says that. You must learn.
Alonso: It is you who has to learn. I have fought with everybody and with three laps to go, we touch!
Massa: (Sarcastic) Bravo.
Alonso: Bravo you!
Massa: You say that I did it on purpose, like I did that on purpose in Barcelona?. You were remained behind.
(As this point Ron Dennis steps in)
Dennis: Boys calm down.
Massa: Tell him to!
I really like the "Tell him to!" from Massa, it's sooo childish.

Interesting. Some very committed fan must have translated that (unless it was you, Alex?!).
As a side note, my Brazilian friends can understand Spanish without much effort. In fact, the cafe downstairs is run by a Spanish and a Brazilian woman. They speak to each other in their native tongues are are somehow understood. It's bizarre to listen to.

It was not I. I believe it was a collabrative work several people translating the bits from the languages they spoke...
I speak spanish as my mother tongue, and can tell when someone is speaking (at least brazilian) portuguese. Also I recognize italian very well, since many italians come to my country.
I could tell from what I heard that they (Alonso and Massa) were speaking at first italian, then at some point Massa switches to portugese, specifically when he says "vai cagar" (go f**k yourself). For what I could hear in the TV, they didn't speak spanish at all.
