Chinese food

But of course in China, they just call it food. Anyway, why has Michael been incapable of performing at this circuit? Or why do we (or the media) think he is? There have, after all, only been two races held here. Once Michael made a mistake in qualifying, but Rubens won, and twice Michael was in a bad car anyway, but was crashed into on his lap to the grid just for fun. Michael, in fact, holds the lap record for the track.

I always get confused between this circuit and Bahrain. They are quite similar in layout, but I guess the point of this post is, what makes a circuit good for one driver and not good for another? The car has some impact, of course, but the car can be set-up by the driver. A champion should be good everywhere, and I think that's what we'll see this weekend: Michael winning from pole.

Comments:
The big problem with china is the unusual statistic. Michael hasn't won there. That is all. And in many ways you might forgive somebody of Michael's quality of missing winning once but twice or three times?

In the press's eyes it becomes a bogey circuit for him. It hasn't really become a circuit that can't ever be successful for him physically but when patterns or stats show up the press report it as though it's a real story.

When a story like this becomes a story it becomes difficult for the drivers to ignore. It's hard not to ask yourself the same question that the press keep asking. And the reporters will simply ask him the question outright. And maybe Michael won't respond, but it's got to be really hard not to. And it's got to be really hard to ignore. Some of it will rub off on you.

But this season with there special situation, Michael will probably thrive on proving people wrong.

I think I remember people saying Monza was a bogey circuit for Kimi, and then he went and put it on pole and came second. And as Jenson has just said, reporters last year were saying Japan was bad for Kimi too, and he went and won it, so... I think Michael's ready to win all three in a row.
