What do we think about Anthony Davison's performance?
I'm interested to know. I'd really like to see everyone post on this, I'll do it too. But I'd like all posts to end with a sentence which starts with either, "I think Anthony Davidson is a better commentator than racer because" or "I think Anthony Davidson is a better racer than comentator because". I'd be very interested to hear your views.

Personally I think he did really well during the race. He dealt with the a very complicated race admirably. It's difficult to know the true measure of Anthony as the most difficult race to commentate on must be the one when nothing much happens (or should I say nothing obvious happens) which is probably what Anthony was imagining when he signed up for the deal.
ITV could have easily been accused of bias when hiring Anthony for example as the last driver to have taken part as a commentator was also working for Honda. But I suppose they wanted somebody articulate. He clearly was biased towards his team mate and so was James and I think we can forgive them both this.
So overall other than a few bits of unexplained jargon (he never said TC was traction control for example), but really it should be James who makes the technical expert understandable to the public, I think he did quite well.

I think he did pretty well. He has an obvious advantage over Martin in that he was driving one of cars on that track just the day before, and that gave us some great insights. Nonetheless, I have three problems:
1. He 'er's too much, although I'm sure that would disappear with practice.
2. He said Michael was on full wets at the start of the race when he was actually on inters.
3. He didn't answer James's question about how Michael and Massa were doing the same times on different tyres.
I have no idea if he's a better driver than commentator. Some British journalists seem to think he's great, but you never know...
